Our strategic core

The Prevar business is centred around four core areas: Consumer Insights-Driven Innovation, a World Class Breeding Programme, Customer-Centred Commercialisation and Industry & Category Leadership. Although the New Zealand industry remains at the forefront of innovation and premium quality in the global industry, we continuously challenge our thinking and push the edges of innovation so that we can maintain and enhance our competitive advantage as a value creator.

Prevar has now commercially licensed 18 varieties, has entered a total of 36 license agreements and holds more than 183 Trademark registrations across the globe.

Prevar: Proudly Recognised
as a FernMark Licensee

As a proud licensee of the New Zealand FernMark Programme, we are dedicated to advancing New Zealand’s horticultural expertise through the development of premium apple and pear varieties. Guided by the values of Pōtikitanga (curiosity and ingenuity), Tiaki (care for people and place), Manaaki (warmth and respect for others), and Pono (integrity and honesty), we integrate these principles into our innovative approach, creating fruit varieties that meet the evolving needs of growers and consumers worldwide.
